| Editor's note |
|
|
Beginning with the fall 2011 edition's Book Notes, a single book has been selected from all submissions and highlighted and excerpted. Remaining submissions are listed in brief entries that include the author’s name, title, genre, and publisher. If the book’s subject is not evident in the title, we note the subject matter.

Virginia Tech Magazine is pleased to note books by the university's alumni, faculty, and staff or books about Virginia Tech. Please consider these guidelines before submitting a book:
- Virginia Tech Magazine must receive the book within one year of its publication date.
- Email a brief description of the book, along with the author’s name, book title, genre, and publisher to vtmag@vt.edu.
- Aided by the descriptions, one book is selected for review in each magazine edition. In this event, a review copy will be requested from the author. For books not selected for the review, please note that the brief description is omitted from the information printed in the magazine.
- Alternately, authors who wish to donate a review copy to the university are welcome to submit a copy to Book Notes, Virginia Tech Magazine, 105 Media Building, Blacksburg, VA 24061. The magazine staff may collectively photograph submitted books for use on Book Notes pages. Submitted books are ultimately donated to the library in The Grove, home of President and Mrs. Charles W. Steger. Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and alumni who wish to contribute other books they have written or edited should mail them directly to The Grove (0446), Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA 24061.
- Due to the number of books submitted to Virginia Tech Magazine,
mention of the book may not appear for several issues after its submission.
Questions or comments about these policies should be directed to vtmag@vt.edu.
Alumni might also consider submitting a note about their achievements for
inclusion in Virginia Tech Magazine's Class Notes.
